The original attire of the vibrant state of Punjab state in North India, the salwar kameez has spread throughout the Indian community across the world. It now stands as the favorite outfit that any Indian girl would really appreciate. When it comes to outfits like saree, lehengas, skirts and pants it might not suit everybody. But salwaar kameez is an outfit that suits every girl, and is the ideal combination of comfort and style. It not only makes you feel beautiful but also makes you feel comfortable and confident. Salwaar kameez 2008 has become the regular costume for almost all the girls and women this year.

Starting with many different trends and with many innovative ideas there are many different, amazing, cool fashions. In 2008 many new trends, new models with brilliant new designs have been innovated. Some much hit models include the anarkali salwaar kameez, the designer Patiala, shararah as well as many newly designed bridal wears.

Anarkali is the fastest moving fashion of this year. The anarkali was brought to India by the Moghuls centuries ago, and still works wonders in the year 2008. It got its name from the famous character Anarkali of the history. It salwaar is a very type churidaar with work done towards the bottom of the leg with contrasting colors, mostly with golden and silver threading. The best part of an anarkali dress is its kameez where the upper part is designed as a very pretty blouse with lots of enchanting work done on it. From the place where the blouse ends, the kameez gets a lovely free umbrella design. The joint between the upper part and umbrella is given a belt like patch.

Designer Patiala is the costume that is attracting most of the attention on occasions such as weddings. Lehengas being a little out of fashion have led way for the designer patialas to take their place. Designer patialas are generally made of silk of really high quality of chiffon. It has extensive decorative work which makes the wearer the center of attraction at any gathering. The kameez and the Patiala are often of contrast colors, making it look brighter still.
