Patiala Salwar Kameez For All

Posted by jasnav on May 25, 2008

Patiala salwar kameez is a traditional wear that has its origin in the Indian state of Punjab. The kings who ruled Punjab introduced the patiala style of salwar that has multiple pleats, which go all the way to the back of the salwaar. This gives a baggy look to the wearer and the free flowing salwar can make anybody look gorgeous, no matter what the size and the shape of your body. This patiala style was later adapted by the fashion designers of India for creating the patiala salwar kameez.

The patiala salwar kameez allows free movement for the legs providing a stylish look at the same time. The baggy pants that hide the waist line are perfect for those who have big butts or those who feel that they don’t have a good shape. The kameez of the patiala salwar kameez follows the body line closely and has a deep cut in the sides upto the waist. This kameez will ameliorate the look of a girl who has that cherished hourglass figure.

The kameez length for the patiala salwar kameez is generally a little above the knee. Girls who are very tall and lean will look bright and fluffy in the loose fitting kameez and patiala pants. Short girls will look great with the knee length kameez and baggy salwar. Many middle aged woman also prefer wearing patiala salwar kameez, as it is comfortable and hides the irregular shapes.

As the patiala salwar kameez is very comfortable to wear during work, it is very common among women going to the offices. The current trend among the college girls is to wear patiala style during special occasions. This type of salwar kameez was popular during the 60s and the fashion has started again, albeit with a few minor changes. Patiala salwar kameez is popular among the foreign models too as the Indian fashion market has been geared up by the fashion designers of India.
