Narrow laces look best when stitched along the neckline, with a matching lace along the edge of the arms. Suits can be full sleeves or half, and either way you can use it along the edges. Some smaller parts of the lace can be also used to stitch patterns on the body of the cloth. The narrow lace also looks good along the hem of the shirt. Another way of adding some variety to the design is by putting some broad lace along the hem, and narrow lace along the neck and the arms. Generally, the same pattern of lace is available in broad as well as narrow pattern, so you can actually pick both of the same pattern and different widths.

Laces look best on plain cloth, as they get a better chance of the pattern being noticed. While there is no law against putting  a lace on a pattern printed cloth, the fact is that the beauty of the lace is likely to get lost in the patterns already printed. You can choose a lace of your choice, or leave it to your designer to take the best bet, depending on how inclined you are towards the designing of your own suits.
